Guidelines for Users and Reviewers (“Givers”) on Grata

By giving a Grata, you’ve proven that you’re a GIVER. You’re a supporter of the people, companies, and co-workers who impact your lives. But they also impact the lives of the person being reviewed. You can make their day with a quick “thank you!”… “you made my day” … or a “way to go!”)

Grata is here to recognize the frontline worker and your co-workers. Every day we have experiences with real people – whether that’s getting coffee from your local barista, shopping at a retail store, going to the doctor or to a hospital, eating at a restaurant, or staying at a hotel… We may provide feedback on the company on ratings websites or directly on the business’s website, but in many situations, we never get a chance to provide feedback to the team member who helped us. Unlike an Uber experience, there is no 5-star system at most places in the world for the team member.

So we started Grata to help improve the lives of our frontline workers and in the process, make the world a nicer place by providing the gratitude that is often missing in our everyday lives. We do it by giving you a powerful, simple to use review platform where you can share your praise and feedback of the people who make your experiences world class. You do it by providing that “thank you!” … that “well done” to the associates who can make our day instantly better with their smiles and excellent service.

We absolutely seek real direct feedback – good or not so good. This feedback connects to the business and the employee to both celebrate the awesome and also help them improve where necessary. The only thing we ask is that you respect and follow a short set of guidelines to help us all keep Grata a collaborative and trustworthy place for everyone to enjoy. These guidelines are intended to provide guiding principles to use our Service and Platform. Grata will have the final say with regard to the application of these guidelines, and we may also update them at any time.   • Be respectful (play nice)
    • Please remember that you are reviewing or providing feedback on a PERSON. We absolutely want you to be honest about your experience. But please don’t be a jerk. Don’t post anything obscene, hateful, discriminatory, defamatory or harmful. Don’t lie, bully, blackmail, make threats or do anything illegal. Treat others as you would like to be treated.
    • What do we mean by defamatory? We recognize that it isn’t easy to specifically define. Our platform sits between consumers and those frontline workers (real people) as well as businesses. We want you to tell your story (good or bad), but we’re also required to take down words and statements that are likely to cause serious harm to someone’s reputation or serious financial loss to a business. The most powerful reviews explain what happened and leave it to readers of your reviews to draw their own conclusions.
    • If someone flags your review to use for breaking one of our rules, we may temporarily hide your review and ask you to make some changes to bring genuine reviews within our guidelines so they can stay on the Grata Platform. If you seriously misuse the platform, we can remove your reviews and possibly block or delete your account. If we delete your account, your reviews will may be deleted.
  • Don’t write a fake or purposely biased review
    • Don’t make up an experience or write a review for someone else. Don’t make up reviews to make your company look better and don’t falsely review a competitor to your benefit. Basically, if you work for or are in competition with a particular company, you shouldn’t review it or the people there, unless you are giving a Grata (thank you) to a co-worker who went above and beyond. This also isn’t the place to air internal employee grievances.
  • No selling, soliciting, or promoting anything in your review
    • This service is for honest, open feedback on experiences, so don’t add any links to products or services or do any marketing in your review. This isn’t the place to sell stuff, and just in case you’re wondering, this isn’t a way to ask for a date.  🙂
  • If you can’t provide feedback right away, don’t wait too long to write your review
    • Reviews are your chance to share your experiences with others and to give feedback to the people who make your experiences memorable. Reviews are better when they’re top of mind…fresh in your memory (preferably right after the experience which can be done through the Grata app, a QR code, or on the Grata or the company website). Providing feedback quickly also lets readers of your review get a sense of how the people and companies are doing now – not six months to a year ago.
  • Please keep your private information private
    • As explained in our Privacy Policy, Grata is an open platform and your reviews are public. We take your privacy and the privacy of the associates you review very seriously. It’s not a good idea to include your own sensitive or personal information, and never, ever provide someone else’s. This could be things like names, phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, and anything else that could be used to track, identify, contact or impersonate someone.
  • If at all possible, keep proof of your experience
    • If on the off chance, any disputes arise from a review, it helps to have documentation confirming you had the experience with the person or company (e.g., a receipt, screenshot of a chat session) – we may ask you to verify your experience.
    • Keep in mind that Grata is a consumer review platform, not a court of law or a regulatory authority of any kind. Grata doesn’t get involved in disputes about what happened between a reviewer and a reviewee or business.
  • You will need a user account to use the platform
    • You will need a user account to post or receive a review. Make sure it’s you. Your username, profile description and picture must reflect who you are (no – we won’t believe your name is Mickey Mouse or Captain America). Your name and picture can’t be harmful, hateful, discriminatory, defamatory or obscene — remember, everyone can see your profile! If you do include something you shouldn’t, we can delete your account/s. Your user account also needs to be connected to a valid, permanent email address in case we need to contact you.
    • There are times where your account information may be automatically created and pre-filled with your information…for example, if you choose to sign up or sign in via Facebook. After signing in or signing up, you can edit your details at any time to include only information you want publicly displayed.
